S. Beth May is a Centralia, Washington based composer.  She serves on the music faculty at Centralia College.  She previously served on the music faculty at Northwest Vista College from 2002 to 2014.   Her music has been performed throughout the United States and in the the United Kingdom.  In addition to composing concert works, Beth also collaborates with filmmakers and choreographers.  Her textbook, Music Fundamentals: An Introduction is available from Kendall-Hunt. Her most recent project is a collaboration with the band class at Le Moyne Elementary School as part of the Society for New Music's Composer in the Schools program.  Her work has recently been featured on Apple Orange Pair's debut CD, Seeds. Beth was excited to collaborate with choreographer Wendy Ellis on a new piece in 2014 and enjoyed collaborating with sound designer Kelly Walker and director Heather May on the  production of Heavier Than..., which took place at Hobart and William Smith colleges in the spring of 2014. Beth has performed as a soloist and accompanist throughout the United States.

As a visual artist, Beth has published illustrations in the book Esiku Limwe (Gamsbert-MacMillan, 2000) and has shown paintings and lithographs in juried exhibits in her home state of Indiana.
